John Moret

John Moret is principal of his own business consultancy MoretoSIPPs and lives in West Wellow.  A non-practising actuary, he retired at the end of 2010 from the pensions industry where he had worked for over 40 years. He is frequently quoted in the press and is often referred to as "Mr SIPP" having been heavily involved with Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) since their conception in 1989.

His association with the Playhouse dates back to 2002 when he was Managing Director of PPML - a local company and corporate patron of the Playhouse. He encouraged staff to participate in an arts based activity - in this case the creation of a sculpted mosaic in conjunction with a local artist and backed by the Playhouse. This led to the Playhouse and PPML winning the annual Arts and Business Award. He joined the Playhouse Board in 2004.

John has strong sporting interests - he is on the Council of the Hampshire & IoW LTA, Chairman of the local Sarum Tennis League and represents Hampshire in the Veterans National Inter-county Tennis Championships. He is non-executive chairman of Investor in Customers and is a non-executive director of Dentons Pensions Management. He also chairs The Pensions Network and is on the board of the Investment and Life Assurance Group.
